CETAG — Casthouse Engineering and Technology AG (hereafter “CETAG”, “we” or “us”) undertakes to process all personal data (hereafter “personal data”) collected through the website www.cetag.swiss in accordance with Swiss data protection law, and to take appropriate security measures to protect it against unauthorised access. This privacy statement tells you which personal data is collected and processed in connection with your use of the website, for which purposes it is used, to whom it may be disclosed, and what your rights are. Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural or legal person — for example name, company, address, email address or telephone number.
By accessing the CETAG website (www.cetag.swiss) and using our services, you confirm that you have read this privacy statement and agree to the processing described in it. 01Who is responsible for your personal data

CETAG determines the purposes and means of processing your personal data and is therefore responsible for its processing and use in accordance with this privacy statement. 02How we process personal data
All personal data collected through the website is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. We collect and process personal data carefully and for the purposes described in this privacy statement. Within the limits of applicable law we may also use your personal data in ways other than those described here. In that case we will provide a specific notice at the time of collection and, where required, obtain your consent.
Wherever it is reasonable to do so, we collect information in anonymised or pseudonymised form, so that we cannot identify you.
03What personal data we collect and for what purposes
3.1 Personal data transmitted automatically
CETAG collects and stores information that your browser transmits automatically when you visit our website, in what are known as server log files. This collection follows from your interest in visiting our website and our legitimate interest in operating it. The data may include:
- browser type and version;
- operating system used;
- referrer URL, that is the page visited previously;
- host name of the accessing computer;
- date and time of the server request;
- IP address;
- volume of data transferred;
- further similar data used to defend against attacks on our systems.
This personal data is not combined with other data and is kept separately from any other personal data you transmit. It is deleted after six months at the latest.
CETAG uses the automatically collected personal data in order to
- display and operate the website and keep it functional;
- ensure the stability and security of the system;
- improve and protect our services;
- produce statistics in the event of attacks on the network infrastructure.
3.2 Personal data you transmit to us
CETAG collects and processes personal data that you provide voluntarily: through the contact form on the website, through an enquiry about a used machine, when downloading documents, through our email address, by telephone or by any other route. This information includes, for example:
- first name and surname, company, role, postal address, email address, telephone number;
- your message, your enquiry or the technical details of your project;
- in the case of job applications, the information and documents you send us for that purpose.
Providing this personal data is expressly voluntary. Without it, however, we cannot deliver the requested service, or cannot deliver it at the quality intended.
CETAG uses the personal data you transmit in order to
- answer your enquiry and provide the requested services and information;
- prepare quotations and conclude and perform contracts;
- communicate with you during ongoing projects;
- comply with statutory obligations.
04On what legal basis we process personal data
The processing of this personal data is based on the following legal grounds:
- your consent, where it can be withdrawn at any time — for example when you allow analytics cookies;
- the performance of a contract with you, or steps taken with a view to concluding one, for example when you request a quotation;
- compliance with a statutory obligation, for example for tax purposes or for judicial investigations and proceedings;
- our legitimate interests, namely the protection and security of our services, systems and assets, compliance with legal and contractual duties, the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, the efficient organisation of our business, and the improvement and marketing of our services.
Where processing is based on your consent or on our legitimate interests, you may withdraw that consent or object to the processing at any time by contacting us at hello@cetag.swiss. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
05To whom we disclose your personal data
CETAG takes the measures needed to ensure that only authorised staff and agents have access to your personal data, and only to the extent required for the purposes for which it was collected.
In line with the purposes and legal grounds described above, we may disclose your personal data to the following categories of recipient, as far as this is necessary:
- service providers that process personal data on our behalf and on our instructions, in particular in IT, hosting and support;
- fabrication and technology partners involved in delivering a service you have requested;
- customers, suppliers, insurers and other business partners;
- industry organisations, associations and other bodies;
- acquirers, or parties interested in acquiring, business units or parts of the company;
- courts, conciliation authorities, law enforcement and supervisory authorities, lawyers and other parties in potential or actual proceedings, where this is necessary to comply with the law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We select our partners and processors carefully, and only where there is sufficient assurance that they have appropriate technical and organisational measures in place. They may process personal data only on our documented instructions, are bound by confidentiality, and may use your personal data only to the extent needed to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.
06Transfer of personal data abroad
The personal data collected through our website is stored in Switzerland. Our hosting partner is Novatrend Services GmbH; the servers are located in Switzerland, and in normal operation the data does not leave the country.
Where we exceptionally transfer personal data to recipients outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area — for instance to a technology partner, or to a provider whose service you have allowed — we do so only where it is necessary for the processing described in this privacy statement and permitted by applicable law.
If data is transferred to countries that do not guarantee an adequate level of protection, we ensure appropriate protection through suitable safeguards: contractual guarantees based on the EU standard contractual clauses, your explicit consent, the conclusion or performance of a contract with you, or the establishment, exercise or enforcement of legal claims. 07How long we keep information about you
Personal data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected — unless longer retention is necessary to meet statutory obligations, contractual or pre-contractual duties, or legitimate business interests.
On that basis the following periods normally apply:
- Personal data transmitted automatically when you visit the website, as described in section 3.1, is deleted within three to six months.
- Enquiries you send us through the forms on the website are deleted from the website database within 30 days after they have been dealt with. Enquiries sent through the forms or by email are also archived internally for as long as this is necessary for the business relationship or statutory retention duties apply.
- Job application documents are deleted once the procedure is complete, unless you have expressly agreed to longer retention.
- Contract-related personal data, including business records and correspondence, is kept for the duration of the contractual relationship and for ten years thereafter, unless a shorter or longer statutory period applies in the individual case, retention is required for evidentiary reasons, or earlier deletion is called for.
08Cookies and Google services
When you access or use the website, we may place what are known as cookies — small text files — or similar tools on your device. We use them to recognise you as a user of the website, to improve the performance of the site and to make it easier to use.
a) Categories of cookies we use
Depending on their function and purpose, the cookies we use fall into the following categories:
- Technically necessary cookies make it possible to display and operate the website. They include the cookie that stores your own choice in the cookie notice, and the session cookies of the system. These cookies are set without your consent, because the website does not work without them.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how the website is used, which pages are visited often and where visitors leave. They are only set once you allow them in the cookie notice.

b) Your choice
The first time you visit the website we ask whether you wish to allow analytics cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. You can also refuse or delete cookies in your browser. If you block technically necessary cookies, parts of the website will no longer be available.
c) Google Analytics
If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics sets cookies that make it possible to analyse your use of the website. The information generated is normally transmitted to a Google server and stored there; transmission to the United States cannot be ruled out.
We have activated IP anonymisation. Your IP address is truncated by Google within Switzerland, within the member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before it is transmitted. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server and truncated there. Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide further services connected with the use of the website. The IP address transmitted by your browser is not combined with other data held by Google.
You can prevent collection by Google Analytics by refusing analytics cookies in the cookie notice, or by withdrawing a permission already granted. You can also install the browser add-on provided by Google to deactivate Google Analytics.

These cookies are needed for the website to work and are set without your consent. They store no information that identifies you personally.
08.2List of cookies for analysis purposes
These cookies are not technically necessary. They are set only after you allow analysis in the cookie settings, and they are deleted again when you withdraw that permission. As long as no measurement id is configured for this website, no analysis service is loaded at all and none of these cookies is set.
09No automated decisions including profiling
We do not take any decision about you based solely on automated processing — including profiling — that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.
10Security
CETAG has implemented organisational and technical measures to maintain the security of personal data and to protect it against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, alteration, disclosure or access. The website is served over an encrypted connection only.
CETAG may engage third parties as processors to collect and process personal data. They process your personal data only on our instructions and are obliged to apply strict security measures.
Transmitting information over the internet is not entirely secure. Although we do our utmost to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to our website; any transmission is at your own risk. You are free to send us your personal data by another route at any time, for example by telephone. Once we have received your data, we apply strict procedures and security measures to prevent unauthorised access.
11Privacy statements of third parties
Please note that when you click a link to a third-party website, you are taken to a site we do not control, and our privacy statement no longer applies. Your browsing and interaction on such a site are governed by its terms of use and its privacy statements. We also cannot guarantee that these links are correct and up to date.
We recommend that you read the terms of use and privacy statements of other websites carefully before submitting personal data there. We are not responsible or liable for the content and the data processing of such third-party websites.
12What your rights are
On proof of your identity you may ask CETAG whether we process personal data about you. You also have the right to request the correction, destruction or restriction of processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. Where processing is based on your consent or on our legitimate interests, you may withdraw that consent or object at any time. In certain cases you have the right to receive personal data arising from the use of online services in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
Please address such requests to hello@cetag.swiss. CETAG reserves the right to restrict your rights within the limits of applicable law — for instance not to disclose comprehensive information or not to delete personal data. Please note that even after a request for deletion we may have to keep personal data in whole or in part under statutory and contractual retention duties. Deletion may mean that you can no longer use our services.
If we reject your request or you are not satisfied with the way we have handled it, you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority and to seek a legal remedy. The competent authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Bern, www.edoeb.admin.ch.
13Changes to this privacy statement
CETAG reserves the right to adapt, supplement or otherwise amend this privacy statement at any time and without stating reasons. The version in force is the one published at www.cetag.swiss.
